We’ve just received a second draft of an FOIA reform bill being considered by Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX. His chief counsel, James Ho, who sought a lot of input from open government organizations in preparing the bill, has asked that, after reviewing the draft, we submit any additional comments by Feb. 4.

I’m attaching a copy of the draft bill and also an outline of the FOIA reform issues that were considered and included in some manner in the bill. It’s probably easiest to start there.

Please let me have your suggestions for additions, deletions or language modifications by Wednesday, Feb. 2 so I can collate before sending them on. Also let me know if you think we should endorse the legislation.
